COLLECTION: Ocean Surface

Inspired by the stunning range of colours found in glacial environments, including brilliant blues (caused by light absorption in dense ice), stark whites, subtle greys, and even the dark tones of sediment and rock. This abstract collage involved applying the papers into a non-repesentational composition focusing more on the elemnts of colour, shapes and texture to interpret the glacier in an abstract way. Stitching has been applied to add more texture and visual depth. I also have a strong sense of stewardship for the earth and so the natural landscapes are what I am drawn too.
